The political leadership has an important role as an influential factor in the economic development within the state, and this role depends on several things, including the attractiveness of the political leader, as well as the experience he has in the field of management, in addition to his flexibility in dealing with the problems he faces within the state.

this study came to shed light on the most important efforts and roles undertaken by Malaysian prime minister Muhammad Mahathir in order to build a development policy based on the economic and natural characteristics of the Malaysian state with effective use of material resources.
