This study aims to analyze the importance of research and development strategy in strengthening the competitive advantages of industrial companies and achieving more distinction and difference from competitors, and then achieving a distinguished position in the global market.

Some results were reached: There is a direct relationship between spending on research and development and the increase in the industrial concentration of pharmaceutical products, provided that there is no entry of other competing companies into the industry‚ provided that no other competitors enter the industry because new entrants bring new capabilities, The study also showed that the high concentration and the presence of obstacles to entering the global pharmaceutical industry can have positive effects on the level of technical and technological development‚ Because the high degree of concentration and the presence of large monopolistic companies that achieve high profits enable these companies to spend part of those profits on research and technological development.
