it also represents a pivotal role in revealing historical facts and highlighting important stations in the life of countries and peoples and contributes to facilitating.

the process of identifying the merits of its path and stages of development through time.

the archival document is one of the sources of history writing because it contains important information and is considered a witness to the events in their details.

the study aims to clarify the importance of archival documents role as a guide to elicit facts and history.

this study came to shed light on the role of the archival document in supporting historical research from the point of view of the professors of history at the college of humanities and social sciences, relying in analyzing their opinions on the descriptive analytical method.

hence, the importance of this study stems from the fact that it seeks to answer the important question that appears as an inevitable result of the need to clarify the importance of archival documents and their adoption in the completion of historical scientific research.
