Abstract EN

This research paper aims to analyze and measure the impact of fluctuations in oil prices and the exchange rate on imports in Algeria during a period from 1990 to 2021.

To achieve the objectives of the study, we used the ARDL methodology based on oil prices and exchange rate as independent variables and Algerian imports as the dependent variable.

The results of this study indicate: • There is a direct relationship in the short and long term between oil prices and imports in Algeria during the study period, meaning that changes in oil prices affect the volume of imports positively.

• There is no relationship between the exchange rate and imports during the study period, whether in the short or long term, meaning that the exchange rate does not affect imports.
