The leaders of the Algerian Liberation Revolution had considered arming one of the significant cases, since it was a fundamental tool in their fight against the French enemy (colonialism) also they tried to get as much ordnance as they can so that the Revolution can peruse and extend The intrinsic sources of weapons were at the beginning the most important factor to the start of the armed combat in November, 1954, but that wasn't enough, since the Revolution evolved and enlarged which made the search for a new arming sources from the Arabic countries and the nations that sympathized with the Algerian case a necessity.

Ahmed Ben Bella was the one who pledged that difficult mission.

The Dina's yacht operation is considered as one of the biggest and the most successful gunrunning operation through the western borders in 1955, historian considered it as a real epic.
