Abstract EN

the aim of this study was to investigate the nature of pain and its impact on the mental health of women with breast cancer both before and after treatment, where the researcher discussed the basic concepts of what physical and psychological pain is, and how it occurs The researcher also indicated the most important psychological impacts and effects resulting from the continuity of pain, while clarifying the functions that pain can occupy as a pathological symptom, based on previous studies and research supported by statistics related to both breast cancer and pain.

This study concluded; that pain is made up of several emotional, behavioral and cognitive components resulting from actual physical damage, these pains tend to worsen in the case of breast cancer especially after therapeutic intervention, resulting in psychological disorders and manifestations the most important of which are depression and anxiety, which, in turn, leads to psychological suffering due to the physical pain and the breast cancer itself.

Finally, psychosocial factors are the most influential in the onset of chronic pain and this requires multidisciplinary management with the application of specific psychological treatments.
