Economic regulation consists of the total procedures and measures issued by the competent independent public bodies, headed by the Competition Council, with the aim of protecting the public economic order.

These measures vary according to the variety of circumstances and necessities required, between repressive and preventive measures, which contribute to strengthening and guaranteeing the freedom to engage in economic activities, and lifting the constraints they impede, along with economic efficiency and consumer protection.
