We try through this study to highlight the role of social networking sites in the field of popular control and the results they have achieved in this field in the Arab world in general and Algeria in particular, due to the characteristics of these means, especially the speed of their spread, which has positive aspects in spreading political awareness However, it may have negative effects on the security of the state and its stability.

Therefore, it has become necessary to frame its use from a legal point of view, and this is what was embodied in Algeria by Law 09/04, and the establishment of a national body to monitor the use of media and communication technology, including social media, according to the presidential decree.
