Within the framework of the program of reform and modernization of the justice sector, among these reforms undertaken by Algeria in the field of improving criminal policy was the issuance of Law 01/18 of 12 Jumada I 1439, corresponding to January 30, 2018, which includes Law 05/04 of 27 Dhu al-Hijjah 1425 Corresponding to February 06, 2005, which includes the regulation of prisons and related to electronic probation, which aims to replace the short-term deprivation of liberty by applying electronic probation to strengthen the basic principles of criminal and penal policy that are based according to the Basic Law on respect for human rights and achieve the goal of social reintegration of the convict.
