The Algerian short story, like many Arab stories, was concerned with the issue of resistance and struggle and the facts of the war of liberation, and this topic became the main focus even after the independence of Algeria in most of its writings, whether in Arabic or French.

The Algerian storyteller was interested in the human and social aspect, and this was evident in his literary writings to ensure the transmission of facts and events to the reader within the scene of contemporary narrative discourse.

The Algerian literary stories related to the liberation revolution are considered a branch of the stories of the stream of modern awareness.

The modern style of writing that includes patterns of history and heritage has greatly helped in the advancement of this type of literature.
