The phenomenon of Algerian emigration has increased in recent years, giving rise to a rich and fascinating debate on this craze for other countries.
in order to understand the realities of the migration process of Algerians, the most appropriate approach is to understand its causes.
this article provides a synthesis of theoretical approaches on the determinants of international migration, and attempts to examine the reasons for these massive departures.
the results obtained after econometric estimation using the ordinary least squares method show that the socio-cultural dimension is now as decisive as the economic dimension in the decision to migrate.
linguistic proximity, historical ties, the reduction of traditional migration costs, wealth inequality and the wage differential constitute significant explanatory indicators of Algerian emigration.

Le phénomène de l'émigration algérienne s'est amplifié ces dernières années suscitant un débat riche et passionnant sur cet engouement pour les autres contrées.
Afin de bien cerner les réalités du processus migratoire des algériens, la démarche la plus appropriée consiste à appréhender ses causes.
cet article offre une synthèse des approches théoriques portant sur les déterminants des migrations internationales, et tente d'examiner par ailleurs, les raisons de ces départs massifs.
les résultats obtenus après estimation économétrique par la méthode des moindres carrés ordinaires montrent que la dimension socioculturelle est désormais autant déterminante que la dimension économique dans la décision de migrer.
la proximité linguistique, les liens historiques, la réduction des coûts de migration traditionnels, l'inégalité de richesse et le différentiel des salaires constituent des indicateurs explicatifs significatifs de l'émigration Algérienne.
