The current study aims at dealing with the most important factors which affect master students' pace of research progress and the challenges that the supervisor and the student face during supervision endeavour.
based on experience and the data obtained from an interview and discussion with some supervisors and master students, some information about constructive supervisor-student relationship were gathered.
the main result obtained affirmed that at the level of Tahri Mohammed university of Bechar, teachers especially the inexperienced ones face many hardships arising from their supervision to students' theses, meanwhile students also encounter some difficulties and problems during their research undertaking, which hinder them to complete their theses or research works on the time scheduled.
