This paper aims to study the effect of financial liberalization on economic growth in Algeria during the period 1990-2018.
In this context, we conducted an empirical study to analyze the impact of the reforms undertaken by the Algerian authorities within the framework of financial liberalization on economic growth.
Although this approach has enabled us to confirm the existence of a positive long-term relationship between credit granted to the private sector and GDP, the financial reforms carried out by Algeria were not sufficient to raise the level of performance of the financial sector as a whole, especially since the application of these reforms coincided with a situation of economic and political instability.

Ce papier a pour objectif d'étudier l'effet de la libéralisation financière sur la croissance économique en Algérie durant la période 1990-2018.
Dans ce contexte, nous avons mené une étude empirique afin d'analyser l'impact des réformes engagées par les autorités algériennes dans le cadre de libéralisation financière sur la croissance économique.
Bien que cette démarche nous ait permis de confirmer l'existence d'une relation positive à long terme entre le crédit accordé au secteur privé et le PIB, les réformes financières menées par l'Algérie n'ont pas été suffisantes pour élever le niveau de performance du secteur financier dans son ensemble, d'autant plus que l'application de ces réformes a coïncidé avec une situation d'instabilité économique et politique.
