The researcher attempts to answer the main question:“Who is Imam ‘Abdelbaqi Al-tabrizi (d.

1039 H.) and what exegesis methodology did he use in interpreting the Holy Quran? The study has shed light on Altabrizi’s biography and his scholarly work primarily his interpretation and explanation of the Holy Qur’an.

Through descriptive analysis, the research has investigated Altabrizi’s exegetical methods of interpreting and explaining verses of the Holy Qur’an, thus revealing the merits and drawbacks of his exegesis.

The researcher used the inductive method to investigate the scholar’s exegesis through a thorough study of his biography in bibliographies and exegesis manuscripts.

The researcher also used the descriptive method in the description of the scholar’s exegesis manuscripts and his methodology.

Moreover, the researcher used the historicist approach to verify the validity of the scholar’s exegesis manuscripts and the sources and references he used in his exegesis.

The research concluded that Tafsir al-Tabrizi is one of the most important explanatory works in the eleventh century AH.
