Abstract EN

This research probed domestic violence as a dangerous prevailing phenomenon in the society and avenues of preventing and limiting its effects in the light of the texts of the holy Quran and Sunnah.

The study aims at displaying how the Islamic Law (Sharia) has been keenly interested in combating and limiting domestic violence in all its kinds and forms.

The Islamic law has set rules and foundations to cope with this phenomenon.

The researcher used an analytic descriptive approach to investigate the study's topics, describing issues, and analyzing them following specific steps.

He also defined the main terms of the study and illuminated ways of preventing this phenomenon from an Islamic Sharia perspective.

One of the major findings of the study is that combating domestic violence is a collective responsibility of the entire community- each individual according to his position and social role, whether inside or outside the family
