The current reading seeks to define the aesthetics of the act of "telling", which characterizes the collection of stories "Food and Eyes" by Abū al-ʻĪd Dūdū literarily as well as distinguishes it from others qualitatively, by focusing on the stylistic appearance as the basis for the emergence, growth and spread of this activity as much as the response and ramifications of its rhetorical devices.

Irony is its most prominent manifestation, as it is expected to be present, starting with the image, the title, and the stories themselves, whether at the level of structure, form, or theme, which shows the stories of the group in a paradoxical appearance as long as it shows one face and contains another or more, What characterizes it as extreme anxiety and tension is its exaggeration in shaping the features of its imagined reality with precision that calls for its finite details, as it re-presents its issues and problems as the narrator imagines them in the time of storytelling / reading, and the reader approaches them in the time of reading / writing at the same time.
