Recently, a new form of the novel has appeared, known as the mystical novel.

In writing it, the novelist uses the Sufi discourse in poetry and prose, and works on its concepts and symbols, employing all mystical knowledge and benefiting from the Islamic heritage as a whole; Thus, it deals with the biographies of some Muslim scholars or thinkers or mystics, as well as touching on their previous experiences, and formulating them in a new formulation, in a new literary character, and perhaps we will find a novel (Safar Al-Salikeen) The one we are going to study by the Algerian novelist and writer “Mohamed Meflah” has touched upon some of the characteristics of the mystical novel; Including language and symbol, as well as employing some historical events, and narrating the lives of some of the great Sufis in an artistic and aesthetic form, and from here came the subject of our study entitled: The connotations of the symbol, the term, and the aesthetics of the Sufi language in the novel "safar al salikin" by: Mohamed Meflah.
