Abstract EN

This study aimed to build a proposed vision for applying school self-management in general education schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

to achieve this goal, the study used the "the Delphi method", which is a method of future studies, and (10 experts) who had administrative experience in the field of school administration or educational supervision for a period of not less than five years and had qualification of master's degree were selected.

the open questionnaire was applied to gather experts in the first round, and the closed questionnaire was used in the second and third rounds, and the percentage of agreement between the opinions of experts in the third round was determined with an approval rate exceeding 93%.

the study results concluded that the very noticeable organizational obstacles that prevent the implementation of self-management were the need to adoption by the ministry of education, the weakness of the administrative powers granted to learning departments and school principals, and the weakness of the organizational structure that supports the decentralization approach in the educational system.

moreover, the very noticeable financial obstacles were the limited and insufficient budgets of schools, and the lack of funding sources other than government funding for schools.

in addition, the very noticeable human obstacles were the lack of competencies required for school principals in line with the concept of school self-management.

the study found that the very noticeable organizational requirements for the application of self-management in general education schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the adoption of the ministry of education leadership for the concept of self-management and the development of the organizational structure of the school in accordance with the concept of self-management of the school and its applications.

the very noticeable financial requirement was represented in increasing the budget of schools in proportion to their independence, and the most important human requirements were the qualifying and training of the school community members in the administrative aspects (planning, organization, budget management and decision-making).

in this regard, the study presented a proposed vision for the application of school self-management in general education schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
