The Association of Southeast Asian Nations or the ASEAN bloc is considered one of the most important strategic regions in which China is keen to strengthen its presence and influence in it, especially after the Cold War and after the beginning of the stage of reform and Chinese openness to the world because of its geographical proximity and the human and economic capabilities it contains.

A privileged position that qualifies it to play a leading competitive role in the international arena, which is what the Chinese leadership realizes and works to implement in its external behavior in all ways, as the region represents a strategic depth and priority in its foreign policies and its national and regional security.
