Abstract EN

This research aims to study and analyze the phenomenon of poverty and the new poor in the world in general and the Arab world in particular in light of the epidemic crisis of COVID-19, by adopting the descriptive and analytical approach.

it was concluded that the effects of this crisis were severe on the poor, as the number of the new poor increased clearly in the world and the Arab countries, due to the fall of classes directly above the poverty line into poverty.

the economic repercussions of the epidemic affected the social aspect of individuals in the world and the condition of the poor worsened in the Arab countries.

therefore, these countries must adopt a package of measures to reform the situation.
