Abstract EN

This research paper aims at societal security as an epistemological approach witnessed in the field of security studies through the development of the concept of security from the traditional concept to the expanded concept, especially with the Copenhagen school, through its perception of security as a social construction, and its interest in the issue of identity and what threatens the cohesion of society and the unity of the state, and the transcendence of traditional visions that are considered society is just a sector of state security, to be considered as an existing entity and a distinct subject of security, which led supporters of the Copenhagen School to put society as a reference topic for security, in the face of the state, which in their view has become a primary source of threat.
