Abstract EN

Djelfa is one of the most important Algerian states in terms of its area; and that it extends longitudinally to a region that combines the desert with the mountain range of the Saharan atlas, the latter is an important reservoir and an extension of a rich and diverse cultural heritage covering prehistoric periods, particularly omnipresent on a very wide survey.

this situation was reflected in the assurance of these archaeological sites, since independence, the Algerian state has spared no effort to preserve it.

in exchange for this institutional and legislative interest, but Djelfa’s archaeological cultural heritage has been seriously damaged in the current period, although its national and international reputation remains.

in this study, we try to follow the evolution of the protection of this local cultural heritage, to identify the current situation in terms of institutions of protection and legislation, and try to come up with alternatives that will help protect and rehabilitate it.
