The crime of treachery is one of the forms of serious corruption crime that affect the integrity of the public office, which is practiced in the context of the public employee carrying out his professional duties.

a threat to the state, its entities and institutions due to abuse and job-trafficking by some employees on the one hand, and protection of an important constitutional principle, which is the principle of the legality of taxes and fees, and that all citizens are equal in paying taxes on the other hand, this is what prompted the Algerian legislator to criminalize the act of treachery and punish it according to article 30 of law No: 06-01 related to the prevention and control of corruption, and therefore every public employee is subject to criminal responsibility if it is proven against him that he committed the crime of treachery.
