Abstract EN

The present study aims at exploring the relationship that exists between didactics and language teaching in the areas of both linguistic and social knowledge.

as an outcome of the intersection of conceptual systems, didactics involves multiple sciences.

by considering the main areas of research and interest in didactics, the study highlights a number of facts that have been established by various sciences and scholarships.

moreover, the present study shows how these facts have been invested in the teaching of languages, and more specifically with regard to teacher’s competencies that allow performing his / her task efficiently through the finding of the appropriate teaching methods and the choice of the teaching means.

the study also attempts to probe the aforementioned research areas that contribute significantly to overcome the problems that hinder the achievement of the intended educational goals.
