Abstract EN

The Western and Arab postmodern novel is witnessing tremendous alterations at the level of construction and content, and these alterations reach the whole elements that furnish the novelistic worlds, starting with the overlapping of events and its anarchism, the Mimetism of the mercurial characters and the cracking of textual time and its hierarchy, passing to the employment of circular-construction techniques, narrative alternation and polyphonic narration, and ending with working on poetics and multi-peculiarities text, as well as fencing the emptiness space in its intersections with existence, sensuality and aesthetic and objective dimensions.

this latter is the subject of our research through which we attempt to shed light on the manifestations that place takes in the contemporary novel considering that it is the realm in which the character moves and the groundwork that holds the event along with time, and qua an influence factor in the rest of the elements, such that the variables which come about impact the personality’s formation, and its good description determines the circumstances of the event and the external and inner features of the personality, in addition to the role it assumes at the level of understanding, interpretation and reception because the good selection of spots by the novelist brings the text closer to the recipient, and establishes the story since it transforms the imagined space to a scene that accords with reality, in which the reader gauges the Romanesque locales with the ones he knows.
