Abstract EN

Arabic poetry has known many transformations affected by intellectual and philosophical currents, and the contemporary poet’s view towards poetry, who invented his unique poetic methods and his own artistic means.

the Arab poet suffers from restrictions that hinder the delivery of his message and limit his creative energies.

from this point of view, this study took the initiative to examine one of the most important expressive methods , chosen by the poet Ayman al-Atom, in facing the challenges of imprisonment ; through the study of samples from his book "prophecies of the hungry" to highlight the poetics of verbal and contextual irony, and the ways to use it to express his poetic experience.
