This article which aims to highlight the importance of writing in expressing of the exiled writers, stands as a testament to these writer’s suffering far from homeland and the family.

Wali al-Din Yakan, the journalist and poet, was one of opponents of sultan Abdul Hamid II, who imprisoned him and then exiled him to Sivas.

since Wali al-Din lived in a world of poetry, he expressed his association with and nostalgia to his homeland ; therefore pain and sadness were dominant themes in his poems which, written in language that is the language of the Turkish era, have a lot of intertextuality and contradiction.

His poetry is another face of protest, revolution and clash of power that adds to his fiery press article.
