the constitutional amendment of 2020 introduced a new constitutional supervisory institution, the constitutional court, responsible for ensuring that the constitution is respected, regulating the functioning of institutions and the activities of public authorities and enforcing control over the constitutionality of laws the constitutional court's exercise of its supervisory functions depends on the notification mechanism, which gives the Algerian constitutional founder the power of notification to several constitutional bodies, as set out in article 193 of the last constitutional amendment.
