Abstract EN

This study aims to show the role of the knowledge economy through education and scientific research in achieving sustainable development in Algeria.

to achieve this goal, the descriptive analytical approach was followed by presenting the experiences of some countries that were able to succeed in achieving high growth rates in the long term, and statistical indicators for these two variables were presented in Algeria during the period between 2000 / 2020.

the study concluded that there is an interactive relationship between the knowledge economy and sustainable development.

we also found out that despite Algeria's efforts in this field ; however, this did not allow it to advance towards the knowledge economy.
