Abstract EN

Algerians have realized since early November 1954 that the revolution will succeedonly by promoting unity and synergy, since 1830 France has worked on the principle of "divide and rule".

therefore, all segments of the people, especially after 1955, mobilized in order to achieve the objectives of the November communiqué and break the power of colonialism, among the groups that worked to strengthen the cohesion of the revolution and push it forward, we find : national unions represented in the general union of Algerian workers UGTA in 1956 and the union of Algerian traders U.G.C.A.

hese three unions worked to keep pace with the liberation revolution through what the militants provided either in the military or civilian field by contacting organizations and unions abroad, especially the organization of international and student unions, defamation of colonialism and its violation of all international laws and norms, as well as the request for material and political support, in addition to the funds they were providing at home to the revolution, especially the union of traders.

this joint action contributed to the unification of the struggle against colonialism.
