“Metaphors We Live By”is a famous book that was able to achieve a significant breakthrough as it seeks to refute the allegations of metaphors being regarded as disparaging.Undoubtedly, it is impossible to dispense with metaphor, as it is an integral part of thought.

It is strongly and spontaneously present in our perceptions and daily behaviors which means that metaphor is not merely a linguistic ornamentation concept restricted for rhetoricians but rather a conceptual structure within our cognitive system that we rely on, both consciously or unconsciously.

For this reason, t has been referred to as cognitive, as it transcends its superficiality in understanding discourse to become a central intellectual concept that describes our perceptions of existence and the being.

The objective of this research paper is to provide clarity on this subject, drawing on selected discourse models.
