The study attempts to trace the pre-Islamic beliefs in the Mauritanian field, through data on rock art, archeology, ancient writings, and then medieval Arab sources.

Therefore, we distinguished between the various aspects of beliefs.

What was monitored included: the burial of the dead, funeral furniture, then sanctification of animals and people, and other manifestations of paganism, and the last possibility is that the region knew some heavenly religions such as Christianity and Judaism.
