Abstract EN

Urban life depends mainly on economic practices, whether as a main center for population centers or an important financier of its rural back and a future for its agricultural products at the same time.

For this reason, the city represented the core of many networks of influence, whether religious, political, or financial, and this was true of the city of Tunis.

Through this work, we seek to clarify the nature of economic practices in the city of Tunis during the second half of the 19th century, based on the documents of the Tunisian National Archives.
