Abstract EN

Narration represents an active presence in the nature of literary works in terms of their analysis, structure, and other elements which are related to narrative discourse and its transformation in particular.

In line with the conference theme ‘keeping abreast with the transformations and rapid changes in the theories, concepts, and visualization…’, this study was conducted to elaborate on these transformations and changes in the contemporary Arabic novel regarding form and content.

The study attempts to answer the following overarching questions: would these transformations be useful to the study of narratives in particular? Have the novel and the story become suitable to incorporate these transformations and apply them at all levels of narrative discourse? Has this transformation been influential at the level of textual analysis which is of use to the reader and meet his/her expectations? Thus, the study aims to elucidate and to give insight to these questions by examining several Arabic novels which have applied and set a framework to these transformations.

Textology was utilized as a methodology for this study.

The researcher has taken into account the conditions for publication, which explains the shortness of the study.

The study concludes that transformations in narrative discourse should be employed as perspectives in novels analysis to investigate the relationships and the mechanisms, which can be utilized to achieve textual harmony in narratives to serve the nature of literary of works.
