Abstract EN

The study aimed to present a proposed conception for the application of standards of excellence in Yemeni universities in light of the main objectives of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

For this context, the researcher used the descriptive approach in its two types: the analytical and the survey, to fit the nature of the study and its objectives.

Thus, related literatures were analyzed, leading to the extraction of the national standards of excellence in Yemeni universities prepared by the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Yemen, specifically the third level: achievement, and the fourth: distinction, as well as the national vision that has determined in its goals its desire to get five Yemeni universities among the top 100 universities at the Arabic level by the year 2025.

The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which are: - The effectiveness of the standards of quality assurance at its first levels: the beginning, and the second: the basis, which guarantees, in the case of their application, to qualify Yemeni universities - in general or those targeted - at the national level of excellence.

- The effectiveness of the standards of academic accreditation at its levels; third level: achievement, and the fourth: excellence, which guarantees, in the case of their application, to qualify Yemeni universities - in general or those targeted - at the regional and international level of excellence.

- The variance in strength points of Yemeni universities, as they have strength points in their internal environment that are different from one university to another, as well as available opportunities in their external environment that qualify them to excel.

However, they need directive plans and practical onsets contributing in investing the strengths and opportunities available.

- The proposed scenario provided a clear path, if implemented, that would help the targeted Yemeni universities to excel at the Arabic level by the year 2025 AD.

In light of this, the researchers concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions in this regard.
