Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the faculty members and their assistants' scientific research obstacles from their point of view at Seiyun University.

The study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach.

The researcher also used the questionnaire as a tool to collect data.

It consisted of (27) items distributed into three areas; academic obstacles (8) items, economic obstacles (9) items, and social obstacles (10) items.

The study population consisted of the faculty members at College of Education, Seiyun University; the researcher selected the study sample randomly, and it consisted of (65) faculty members from a total of (74), with (87%) of the study population.

The study came up with the following results: - The academic obstacles got an approval score (large) with an arithmetic mean of (3.96), the second area, economic obstacles, gained an approval score (very large) with an arithmetic mean of (4.29), and the third area, social obstacles, had a degree of approval (large) with an arithmetic mean (4.16).

Finally, the general result for the combined areas came with an approval score (large) with a mean of (4.14).

- The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at a significance level (0.05) in all the study areas with regard to the gender variable and the academic title variable, which indicates the convergence of the views of the sample members regarding these variables.

-The results revealed that there are statistically significant differences at a significant level (0.05) in the second area, economic obstacles, according to the variable of years of service.

The differences were in favor of those who have 10 years of experience or more.

There were no differences in the other two areas and in the questionnaire as a whole according to this variable.
