Power conflicts play an important and vital role in the international political system, and power sources have occupied an important role in power conflicts in developed societies, not because they are the basis of economic life, but because of their importance in determining the power of the state, especially with the presence of an imbalance between the structure of the international system and the structure and distribution of energy sources.

The major countries, the majority of which are suffering from an energy crisis and a lack of investment, make them in conflict with other countries in order to acquire them and strengthen their internal and external economies.

Thus, the collapse of the Soviet Union marked the beginning of a new phase in the new international order, which led to shifts in the sources of power for countries as a means of influencing the arena.

International, in this context, the power conflicts between the United States of America and Russia that were reflected in the Ukrainian and Syrian crises after 2011 due to the enjoyment of those two countries geographical advantages and energy are important in international politics considering that Syria represents a gateway to the Middle East, while Ukraine represents the gateway to Eastern Europe for countries.

Consequently, the international political system is taking another course in the shift from unipolar control to a flexible bipolar system by escalating competition between the United States of America and Russia in the region by exploiting regional crises in order to increase its power, obtain energy resources and increase the number of its allies in the region.
