Abstract EN

The study deals with the narrative structure in the very short stories collection : transient cloud abscess by the narrator Khalaf Al-Qurashi.

It has been divided into three sections : the first talks about the title, the second deals with the artistic characteristics, while the third is on the linguistic formation in the stories of the collection.

the study uses the structural approach.

it has reached several results, most important of which are : the stories’ words are limited, referring to a suggestive reference ; the dialogue is short but extremely condensed ; the most frequently mentioned closing statements in the stories are the sarcastic ones, the sudden ones, while the least frequent are the poetic ones.

the study attributes the reason for this mostly to the narrator’s reliance on objective paradox compared to his reliance on poetic image.

the stories are characterized by the rapid pace of events, greatly depending on a sudden and unexpected end.

the texts of the stories depend on condensation and artistic brevity, coming in the form of single titles (not more than one word in 78 texts representing 81% of the total titles of the collection), while the double and triple titles do not exceed 18 stories representing19%.
