This article includes a chronological presentation of two architectural monuments that are an integral part of the heritage of Tetouan city, which is classified as a World Heritage Site, namely: the Merinid Kasbah and the Jabal Darsa Kasbah.

The relevance of returning to the past of both sites, including the conditions of construction and restoration stations, as well as the functions they have performed throughout history, thus allowing those interested in cultural heritage to start from a solid and revised history of urban monuments, Moreover, it is an attempt to present the history of the city of Tetouan from the perspective of the institution "Kasbah" and the historical role it played as a vital and necessary annex in the Moroccan city between the XVth and the XIXth century
