Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the role of small and medium food industries in supporting the Algerian economy through analyzing the current situation of these industries and indicating their contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) and added value.

it also aims to highlight the problems and obstacles facing these industries and their growth prospects in enhance their position within the Algerian economy.

however, through our analysis of the current situation of these industries, we have noticed that their contribution to supporting the Algerian economy is still weak, especially for the public sector, whose contribution is almost negligible, unlike the private sector which has recorded increasing contribution rates to the national economy, but it still far from achieving food security and economic growth.
