Abstract EN

Pragmatics is nowadays western discipline, however, pragmatic studies have their origins and authenticity in traditional Arabic texts in the fields of rhetoric, criticism, language, grammar, exegesis, and Coranic sciences researches that is too closer to the recent western pragmatic linguistic studies.

we see that the existence in these traditional texts some notions related to text cohesion.

we find also that the fundamentals of Islamic jurisprudence and Coranic studies scholars have contributed to unveil the pragmatic cohesion of the discourse through the study of adequacy of chapters and verses arranging.

the issue discussed in this contribution can be : is it possible to generalize that the traditional Arabic texts were the first to found the pragmatic practice and the pragmatic analysis by treating the most important textual aspect which cohesion
