If the marriage ceremonies have a big importance in the Algerian society at the present time as they take much time and effort, the issue was not different during the Ottoman era.

the marriage was an important event that had special preparation following the various traditions that became part and parcel of the marriage ceremonies with time.

the Algerian families practiced them according to their abilities and social status because they insisted on their continuity and passing them down from one generation to another.

moreover, the one who does not respect these ceremonies gets a big social blame.
