The article tries to search for the meaning of "Es-sour, a word that appeared in ten verses of the Holy Quran starting from listing the ayahs, then laying out a comprehensive out line, for their description and finally tackling the most important views about their meanings.

one view sees "Es-sour" as the plural of "Soura" which means "image".

while the other sees "Es-sour" as the trumpet or horn into which Israfil will blow to announce the day of resurrection.

the conclusion, after analysing the Ayas went for the first view.
