Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the role of participatory democracy mechanisms in the success of local planning for development at the municipality, case study of Soumaa municipality.

the study concluded that local planning is an effective tool for rationalizing and rationalizing development option for the municipality.

in order to achieve local development, it must start by developing effective local planning that can be achieved with the participation of local actors in order to establish participatory democracy.

this is what requires the elimination of obstacles that impede the mechanisms of achieving them, foremost of which is the need to amend the municipality law to define responsibilities and areas of participation.

the municipality people's councils adopt new management méthodes based on participatory democracy and developing the capabilities of the local community and qualifying it with training courses to increase experience and awareness and change the prevailing culture to a new culture, which is the culture of participatory democracy.
