The aim of this paper is to highlight the role played by sustainable green buildings in reducing environmental impact by defining the concept of green buildings and their principles as well as the standards they are subjected to.

And show the role of these buildings in reducing the environmental impact and its efficiency in using energy.

Where the descriptive approach was relied on for the various global assessment systems as well as those adopted in the Middle East, and it was concluded that reliance on it contributes to the efficient use of energy and reduces the environmental impact
