Abstract EN

The aims of this study is to show the importance of the application of electronic medical file system in the Algerian health institution, where this file includes all medical, personal and administrative information recorded electronically in a medical file for each patient, where this system provides to various health practitioners (doctors, nurses, administrators) the possibility of access to the patient's file and therapeutic history of the patient from any health institution, which contributes to improve the quality of health services and reduce the rate of medical errors.

an interview with a sample of officials revealed that this system is partially applied in some public and private health institutions, also that the Algerian experience is a modern experience compared to other international experiences, especially in light of the challenges faced by Algeria, mainly related to the availability of infrastructure and the technical side and qualified human side as well as those related to security and legal issues.
