Through its complex optical system, cinema works to familiarize people in the world with the cultural and civilizational particularities of societies and to provide representations of their ways of thinking, living and beliefs.

in this era «era of image», the developed countries use the cinematic image as a weapon due to its effect and influence on others.

it provides stable stereotypes on this era, while presenting itself as a "supernatural" sample.

for this purpose, the scenarist jean-Claude Carriere of the Spanish director Luis Buñuel says that: “people who no longer make images of themselves are doomed to extinction”.

what image did the movie “you will die at twenty” present on the Sudanese society? what are the methods and techniques used in this movie to present it? according to what ideology is it presented? will the filmmaker (director) in this film rely on “stereotyping” in presenting his Sudanese society? or will he focus on «the strange"? will he glorify the strange word, or will he belittle it? on the basis of the above, this critical study aims to decipher the movie and to reveal the implied (hidden) and explicit (express) speech, basing on the semiotic and cultural approaches.
