The liberation revolution and the issue of the French colonization of Algeria constituted an important theme that was dealt with cinematically, either by Algerian filmmakers, with a revolutionary and anti-colonial viewpoint, or by the cinema of the other, which adopted the issue of colonialism and the Algerian liberation revolution, with different ideological views.

colonial cinema is considered a model for the other cinema that portrayed the subject of the French colonization of Algeria, where it tried to fallacious local and international public opinion, to entrench the despicable colonial values, and to attempt to obliterate the national identity, by means of the weapon of image and sound.

in this study, we aim to address the theme of the revolution and the colonial project in Algeria through the eyes of the cinema of the other, which had its ideological and political perception in dealing with this issue focusing on colonial cinema, which was the weapon of the French colonialist in the fallacy of public opinion about his presence in Algeria, as well as we will deal with two important examples of the colonial film, namely Pepe Lomoco by Julian Douvier and Bab Azzoun, directed by the Lumiar brothers, who are considered examples of the colonial film, which was characterized by a kind of media fallacies by means of cinema icons and an attempt to obliterate the national character.
