Scientific research is closely linked to universities as they are the source of scientific research across all disciplines, including archival science, which is considered one of the most important information systems that facilitate researchers' access to information for scientific research.

In our theoretical study, we try to shed light on the reality of scientific research in archival science in Algeria to understand the role of this discipline in driving the latter forward, both on the academic side through the faculty, and on the professional side represented by the effective role of archival institutions in such research.

We concluded that this discipline in Algeria has important roles in scientific research by publishing the works of professors and student researchers in scientific journals on the one hand.
