Abstract EN
This work focuses on a comparative analysis between Algeria and the BRICS countries.
The study consists of a comparative analysis of current indicators of trade openness carried out on the basis of a range of indicators such as: the openness rate, the export and import diversification index, the concentration of exports and imports.
Our main results show that the brutal nature of the opening of the Algerian economy is responsible for the failure of Algeria in its policy of openness.
While the gradual and selective opening has been a positive force that has enabled the BRICS to become emerging countries

Ce travail porte sur une analyse comparative entre l'Algérie et les pays du BRICS.
L'étude consiste en une analyse comparative des indicateurs courants de l'ouverture commerciale effectué sur la base d'une panoplie d'indicateurs tels que: le taux d'ouverture, l'indice de diversification des exportations et des importations, l'indice de concentration des exportations et des importations.
Nos principaux résultats montrent que le caractère brutal de l'ouverture de l'économie algérienne est responsable de l'échec de l'Algérie dans sa politique d'ouverture.
Tandis que l'ouverture graduelle et sélective, a été une force positive ayant permis aux BRICS de devenir des pays émergents.
